Taylor Swift’s Re-Recordings Reach A Major Milestone

Following

When Taylor Swift launched her re-recordings project, she started with Fearless, the project that helped make her a global superstar. The set marked the first of six reworked collections, and it has managed to remain incredibly popular ever since she first released it in mid-2021. That title has now reached a special milestone, one which further highlights that she made a great move with her ambitious series.

Fearless (Taylor’s Version) has now spent 156 weeks on the Billboard 200. That’s a full three years on the list of the most-consumed albums in the country.

Swift has seen plenty of releases rack up three years somewhere on the competitive albums tally, but Fearless (Taylor’s Version) marks the first of her re-recordings to do so. It surely won’t be the last, but the first is always especially exciting for any artist—especially considering that this entire venture was something of a gamble.

This week, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) slides down the Billboard 200. The title falls from No. 144 to No. 152. The set moved a little more than 9,500 equivalent units, according to Luminate. Nearly 2,100 of those were actual purchases.

Fearless (Taylor’s Version) marks Swift’s milestone tenth album to spend at least three years on the Billboard 200. Her longest-charting effort remains 1989, which is one frame away from 500 turns on the tally.

It looks like Swift’s next album that will reach the 156-week milestone will be another re-recording. Red (Taylor’s Version) has thus far accrued 138 stints on the Billboard 200. It’s her only release to hit triple-digit turns on the roster that hasn’t made it to three years just yet.

Fearless (Taylor’s Version) debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in April of 2021. Its immediate success showed that the public was willing to support Swift as she worked to regain control over the songs that made her famous, even if millions were already familiar with most of the music on the full-length. The set became the first of four re-recordings to open atop the chart, and she still has two left to release, so she’ll likely add to that sum soon.
