Elevation Worship follows 2023’s Echo the Angels with When Wind Meets Fire, another highly collaborative live project from the contemporary Christian music collective. Associated with Charlotte, North Carolina’s Elevation Church, the group has become a force in the worship genre since debuting in 2007, bringing together traditional biblical messages with modern sounds while highlighting other artists from the CCM community. When Wind Meets Fire opens with the light and poppy “New Thing Coming”, featuring Elevation Worship member Tiffany Hudson and Elevation founder/lead pastor Steven Furtick. As the LP unfolds, the group touches on adult contemporary, soft rock and soul-adjacent sounds, with highlights including the searching “Great Is”, featuring Jenna Barrientes on lead vocals, and the image-heavy title track, led by Hudson and Chris Brown.
