Rogers (1-4) allowed an unearned run on one hit and struck out one over one inning, taking the extra-inning loss Monday versus Atlanta. Rogers gave up the lone run of the game on a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning. He's been fairly steady since the start of July, posting a 2.63 ERA over 13.2 innings in that span, just a touch worse than his 2.25 ERA for the year. He's added a 1.19 WHIP, 56:15 K:BB and five holds over 48 innings overall. While the Giants' bullpen has been restructured after Camilo Doval was demoted to Triple-A last week, Rogers is still unlikely to see much high-leverage work, with Ryan Walker just named the closer and Tyler Rogers and Jordan Hicks slotting in as the preferred setup men.
Beck (arm) will throw three innings in his rehab appearance with Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Beck continues to work his way back from surgery on March 3 to address an upper right arm aneurysm. He made his first rehab outing Thursday, when he allowed one run on four hits while striking out four across three innings. If Beck does end up returning to the majors this season, he'll likely work out of the Giants' bullpen rather than the starting rotation.
Conforto is not in the lineup for Monday's contest versus Atlanta, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Atlanta is sending left-hander Chris Sale to the hill, so the left-handed hitting Conforto will begin this one on the bench. Jerar Encarnacion will patrol left field and Marco Luciano will be the designated hitter.
Chapman went 3-for-4 with a triple, three RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Tigers. Chapman had a two-run single in the first and an RBI single in the sixth to produce the Giants' first three runs. The third baseman was held hitless in the first two games versus the Tigers, but he's still batting .325 (13-for-40) with four home runs and 12 RBI over 10 games in August. For the season, he's up to a .249/.338/.450 slash line with 19 homers, 60 RBI, 81 runs scored, 30 doubles, one triple and 12 stolen bases over 117 contests.
Walker earned the save in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Tigers, allowing one hit and one walk with two strikeouts in a scoreless ninth inning. Walker was named the Giants' closer Friday night and immediately found himself in his new role. He put two runners on with one out but responded with two strikeouts to register his first save of the year. The 28-year-old owns an impressive 2.20 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 73:14 K:BB across 61.1 innings this season and should be even more valuable moving forward with the potential for saves.
Fitzgerald 1-for-3 with a walk and two stolen bases in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Tigers. Fitzgerald stole second and third in the seventh inning and has two multi-steal games in his past three contests after swiping just one base in July. The 26-year-old has remained scorching in August, going 13-for-37 with three home runs, five thefts and five multi-hit efforts across nine games. For the year, he is hitting .313 with 12 homers and 12 steals in just 176 plate appearances.
Webb (10-8) earned the win against the Tigers on Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk with eight strikeouts over seven innings. Webb was dialed in, throwing 78 of 110 pitches for strikes and generating an impressive 17 whiffs. Including a complete-game shutout July 31, the 27-year-old has allowed two earned runs across 21.2 innings during a current three-game win streak. On the year, he owns a 3.32 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 133:40 K:BB across 157 innings and lines up for a matchup with Atlanta next week.
